choosing a phone/palm/email app
I'm new to this. I use a Palm (Zire 71) with DateBk5and FileMaker Mobile, and on my computer, Mac OS X, Microsoft Entourage (although I might consider switching to Mail), Palm Desktop).

I'd like to have email (and probably web) access on a Palm-enabled phone, or perhaps a Palm (Tungsten|T - type) connecting to a GSM/GPRS mobile phone via BlueTooth (I like the modular approach). So far it seems options might be: A Palm Treo; A GSM/GPRS phone and a Tungsten. Any others that use the Palm OS?

What about email? I have an ISP and use IMAP; it appears I may want or need to use POP for mobile use? Thank you.

Hmm, I couldn't delete (or edit) my article. I forgot to ask what email app on the Palm ppl recommend.

I got a Tungsten T3.  I tried a Bluetooth adapter on my mobile phone, and paid Cingular to turn on the data service.  Couldn't get it working.

Got the Palm Wi-Fi card, and now can access e-mail in wifi zones, with a caveat:  If the wifi zone requires one to open their browser first, the Palm browser doesn't seem to do whatever is needed to get one going.  At a couple of hotels, I had to call the toll-free tech support for the wifi provider, and get manually authenticated based on reading them my location settings. (IP number and MAC address. MAC is unrelated to Mac OS.)

I use the built-in VersaMail but would like to try other clients.
